Opening a data file
Two types of data files are supported by MagScope:
- MCB files: the native MagScope format. These are binary files containing magnetic field images. These files can be opened only by MagScope. Their file size is smaller than that of a corresponding CSV file.
- CSV files: ‘Comma Separated Values’ files containing magnetic field distribution data. These files can be opened with other programs, such as Matlab, Excel, Notepad etc.
Note: MagScope is backward compatible with the older ‘.magcam’ file format, as used by earlier versions of MagScope (v.3.x). They can be opened the same way as CSV files.
To open a previously recorded/saved file, select File/Open Mcb or File/Open Csv, depending on what type of file you want to open:
Select a file in the browse window and click Open:
The main MagScope window now looks like this when opening the "Sample_magnet_ring_4pole.mcb" file:
The Minicube1D is a compact Bz magnetic field camera containing a patented sensor chip with an integrated two-dimensional array of 16384 microscopic Hall magnetic field sensors.
The Minicube3D is a 3D magnetic field camera, providing quantitative (Bx,By,Bz) magnetic field mapping in a 12.7mm x 12.7mm 2D plane with a 0.1mm spatial resolution, measured at high speed.
