Saving measurement data
MagScope provides the option to save measurement data manually (one or a few measurements) or automatically (measurements on multiple magnets).
To save the measurement data to a data file, right-click one of the elements in the network, e.g. the Camera element and select Save…:
A dialog is shown that asks the user to which type of file (.mcb or .csv) the data should be saved. Select the desired format.
Furthermore, if the Save… function is used on a 1D/2D plot, it is also possible to save a screen capture of this plot.
Data can be saved at any point in the network. For example, if you save the data from the Camera element, the raw measurement data will be saved.
When performing measurements of multiple magnets, it is convenient to automatically save the data for each measurement. For this the concept of Actions is used. We will configure Export Data to Mcb File Action on one of the elements.
The Configure Actions window appears. From the drop-down menu, select Save Data to Csv:
A Save Options dialog appears where you can select the folder and, if desired, subfolder, to save the data files to, as well as a file name. The save folder and file name can be specified using string identifiers which allow to automatically generate strings containing e.g. dates etc. Click the ‘?’ button in the Save Options dialog window.
The action is now configured. By default, it is set to execute after the run has stopped (‘After stop of run’), i.e. when the Stop button is clicked, or when only a ‘Single’ run was performed. Other options are:
- After stop of run
- After every run
The save action can be disabled by deselecting the ‘Enable’ checkbox.
