Magcam MiniCube3D

Magcam's MiniCube3D three-axis magnetic field camera provides quantitative 3D (Bx,By,Bz) magnetic field mapping in a 12.7mm x 12.7mm 2D plane  with 0.1mm spatial resolution, measured at high speed. The camera is based on Magcam’s unique integrated 2D Hall sensor array technology.

The fully digital and compact measurement system connects to a computer via a single USB cable, making the measurement data directly digitally available. The Magcam maps are analyzed in real time by the MagScope measurement & analysis software and its optional add-on software modules, which provide powerful measurement and analysis capabilities for a complete quality control and characterization of permanent magnets and magnet assemblies.

The MiniCube3D can be integrated in a Magcam MiniTable working platform for inspection of small magnets, in a Magcam Portal Scanner for measuring large magnets and assemblies, or in a Magcam Rotor Scanner for testing PM rotors.

3D software plug-in for MagScope

The 3D plug-in for MagScope adds the functionality for analyzing the full three-component magnetic field distribution recorded with the MiniCube3D magnetic field camera. This includes: 

  • Plotting color graphs and cross-sections of following magnetic field components:
Bx, By, Bz, B (ful field), Bxy, Byz, Bxz, azimuth angle (in-plane field direction), polar angle (out-of-plane field direction)
  • Converting the magnetic field vector to spherical coordinates (azimuth and polar angles, field strength)
  • Converting the measured data to cylindrical coordinates, resulting in following magnetic field components:
Bradial, Btangential, Bz, B (full field) and any combination of 2 components.
  • Generating vector plots of the field distribution

The Magcam Portal Scanner is a high-speed 3-axis motorized mapper with an integrated MiniCube1D or MiniCube3D magnetic field camera for measuring large magnets and magnet assemblies.

Magcam Rotor Scanner

The Magcam Rotor Scanner is a 3-axis motorized scan stage with an integrated MiniCube1D or MiniCube3D magnetic field camera for measuring the magnetic field distribution of permanent magnet rotors.

Magcam MiniTable Working Platform

The MiniTable is a working platform for measuring small magnets, to be combined with the MiniCube1D or MiniCube3D magnetic field camera.

3D analysis elements

In MagScope, most of the analysis elements have additional functionality for analyzing 3-component data. It not only contains the measured Bx, By and Bz components, but also derived components in the used coordinate system.

Technology
